Six Years Strong: Celebrating a Journey of Influence in Customer Success

When I saw the 2025 SuccessCoaching Top 25 Customer Success Influencers list drop, I had to take a second to breathe it in ... six years in a row.
Six. Years. That’s wild.
And honestly, it’s not something I ever expected when I started sharing my thoughts on Customer Success all those years ago. I didn’t set out to be an “influencer.” I set out to make an impact, to share what I was learning, to help others avoid some of the same mistakes I made, and to build a community where we could all learn together.
The Truth About “Influence”
If you know me, you know I’ve never cared much about titles or trophies. Recognition is wonderful, and I’m deeply grateful, but what matters most to me is why I’m being recognized.
For me, this isn’t about influence. It’s about impact.
It’s about every message from a CSM who says something I wrote helped them navigate a tough renewal.
Every leader who’s used one of my templates to build their first playbook.
Every student or new grad who found their path into Customer Success because someone shared my post.
That’s what fills me up. That’s what keeps me showing up.
How I Got Here (and Stayed Here)
The last six years haven’t been about doing one thing well, they’ve been about evolving.
Customer Success has changed so much, and I’ve made it my mission to grow with it, to learn, to question, to challenge what’s always been done.
I’ve built teams, scaled orgs, failed publicly, learned out loud, and created frameworks that were born out of real experience, not theory.
And I’ve tried, every day, to show up with honesty, humor, and heart. Because this community deserves that.
What I’ve Learned Along the Way
Here’s what six years on this list has taught me:
1️⃣ Consistency matters more than virality. You don’t have to go viral. You just have to keep showing up.
2️⃣ Authenticity wins. People can spot performative leadership a mile away. Be real, even when it’s uncomfortable.
3️⃣ Community is everything. This space isn’t about one voice. It’s about the collective, the sum of all of us sharing, teaching, and learning together.
4️⃣ Influence is earned through service. The best way to grow your platform is to focus on helping others grow theirs.
5️⃣ You can lead with heart and have impact. Those two things aren’t opposites, they’re the magic formula.
