CSM Capacity Calculator
$20.00
Figure out how many accounts a CSM can really carry, and walk into the headcount conversation with math instead of feelings.
Every capacity model I ever built started with a nine-hour day and ended with about five productive hours. When you plan on eight perfect hours, you build a model that only works if your team never eats lunch, and then everyone wonders why the CSMs are burned out and the proactive work never happens. This calculator turns the work you ask your team to do into the number of people you need.
Start from real productive hours, take out internal time and set a target utilization. Then list every activity your engagement model asks for, with how often and how long, for up to four segments, including the onboarding hours new accounts eat up. The Summary shows hours per account, sustainable accounts per CSM, CSMs needed against CSMs today, and capacity used against your hiring trigger. The "What changes the answer" table shows how the number moves when one assumption does, so you can bring your CFO real options along with the ask.
